This is my first foray into litter picking since Covid locked us in and killed off the #1PieceOfRubbish campaign. On this sad anniversary of the Manchester bombing I’m renewing my vow to pick up 22 pieces every week, to make Britain beautiful, in memory of Manchester’s beautiful 22. Come join me!
🎼These shoes were made for walking, so that’s just what they did🎵🎶 – for 2.6 km, for 26 days, for my #26challenge , for funding for Mahdlo Youth Zone, for the young people of Oldham! I hope you will help me to celebrate by making much needed donations to mahdloyz.org/support-us/donate. Thank you for your wonderful support throughout my journey. Right now I’m off to ‘pop a cork’🍾
I wrote this 3 yrs ago & vowed to try to clean the streets of Manchester to create a beautiful memorial to the beautiful 22. During lockdown I’ve been unable to fulfil my promise to pick up 22 pieces of litter every week. Today I dedicate my 2.6km walk to their memory. ❤️
Many thanks to @joncowap of BBC Radio York for interviewing me this morning approx 11.30. Gave a big shout-out for @mahdloyz at approx 11.35. Listen in on catch-up later today & for 30 days. Hear my dulcet tones 🤣😂🤣 on the link below:
Day 23 of #26challenge. Achieved another milestone today! Since 1st April I’ve walked this corridor 11,000 times, which equals 100km. Strictly speaking, should that be a kilometrestone? 🤣😂🤣 Please try to donate 2p per km to http://mahdloyz.org/support-us/donate. Every 2p helps!
Day 21 of #26challenge. More and more ‘shoes were made for walking’! 54.6 km, 93,216 steps, 878 minutes, 14 hours 40 minutes, 21 days, 3 weeks…and only 5 more days to go! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️mahdloyz.org/support-us/donate
Day 19 and my 2.6 km walk was a bit slower today. Noticed the Golf Club is now open so ‘drove off’ for a ‘Four-Jack’. Might have played better if the ‘carpet’ hadn’t needed a good watering! 😂🤣😂http://mahdloyz.org/support-us/donate
